This collection contains letters written by Roderick Perry and his family and friends of Warsaw, Kentucky. Also included are letters to soldiers requesting help from Kate Perry. Perry's adjutant handbook and business cards of merchants supplying goods to prisoners' of war are also included.

Roderick Perry was of Warsaw, Gallatin County, Kentucky. He fought in the Confederate Army with the 9th Regiment Tennessee Cavalry and was an adjutant to Col. Biddle. He was twice a prisoner of war being held at Alton, Illinois and at Camp Chase, Columbis, Ohio. He was wounded in the Battle of Atlanta and was hospitalized in Hood's Hospital in Oxford, Georgia. Kate Perry, sister of Roderick, worked at suppling prisoners' of war with necessities such as clothing. From the description ...
